Lotus, an iconic name in Formula 1 since the late 1950s, was founded by Colin Chapman and quickly became synonymous with innovation and engineering prowess. Notable for introducing groundbreaking technologies like monocoque chassis and aerodynamic ground effects, Lotus enjoyed immense success in the 1960s and 1970s, clinching multiple Championships with legendary drivers.
However, financial struggles and ownership changes led to a decline in the team's competitiveness in the 1980s and 1990s, ultimately prompting their withdrawal from Formula 1 in 1994.
