Texaco, originally founded as the Texas Fuel Company in 1901, evolved into a major player in the oil industry. It adopted the Texaco brand in 1913 and expanded globally. Known for marketing innovations, including iconic advertising campaigns, Texaco introduced leaded gasoline and the Havoline motor oil brand. In the 1980s, it faced legal issues over the acquisition of Getty Oil. In 2001, Chevron Corporation acquired Texaco, leading to the creation of ChevronTexaco, later rebranded as Chevron.
